I was very excited about getting this product because I had printed patterns from a fellow home-school mom's blog to use with it. I followed the directions carefully when applying the magnetic strips to each block. The very first time my children used it, they were falling off. I am not happy about having to glue each and every magnet onto each block :( They should have been preassembled or of better quality for the price I paid for this.

Both of my children really enjoy this set. The down side is - there's no pattern cards that my preschooler can use - thank goodness for friends who design pattern cards! One other problem my son noticed was that some of the enclosed designs require 12 blocks of a specific color, but the set only includes 10 blocks per color.

This toy is great for travel because all of the pieces are magnetic. Our 4 year old likes making her own designs. Our 2 and 1/2 year old just likes to move the pieces around and sort by color.

boy and girls will like--and all ages (past the put everything in their mouth stage). encourages creativity. and love that the container is also the workspace. will try out on road and plane trips and restaurants, too. for now, it's a wonderful activity to break up the monotony of regular learning time (i homeschool).
one suggestion--buy 2 sets even if you just have one kid. there is enuf but if your kid(s) want to make a more elaborate picture using only certain colors (like pink!), 2 sets would be better.
also like how it has ideas, if you're stumped. and you can find free printouts of the patterns on large paper to do on cookie sheets. good family time!

We bought this item for our youngest Grand-Daughter @ Christmastime; we found not only the lass was playing with them but here Aunt; Uncle; Cousins; & even myself Grandpa. Many Happy hours already spent over the Holidays an many more to be amused. EXCELLENT.
