Very cool ideaJul 26, 2010 I bought this toy for an airplane ride for my 6 year old boy and it was very successful.

Love this project, plus a tipApr 05, 2010 TIP: It can be tedious to peel all the tiny backings off the sticky tiles. My 5 year old loves the project, but was quickly discouraged when having to stop and peel every single backing off. (It's hard, they are tiny!) I took some packing tape and taped the back of each block of tiles, essentially making the backing into one big piece. It's MUCH MUCH easier to peel the tiles off one solid backing that peeling each tiny backing off. My son LOVES it now and is looking forward to hanging them in his room when they are done.
a great teaching tool disguised as a craft projectApr 05, 2010 My nearly 4 year old did two of the projects today (there are four in total) nearly all by himself (I started a couple of the tiles at first to show him the process)and loved it. In fact he didn't want to go to sleep, "I want to make dinosaurs all night". Don't let the recommended age range scare you -- if you know your child has the fine motor ability, try it.
A HUGE HITFeb 17, 2010 My son received this as a gift. Once opened, it was hard to make him take a breather. This kit comes with everything you need make 4 mosaic pictures that can be hung up to display. They even include extra mosaic tiles.
The best way I can describe this craft is that it's like paint by numbers except you place small mosaic tiles on numbered spaces instead of paint. The mosaics are on a pad with paper that needs to peeled off in order to stick on the dinosaur picture. I was not sure if my son would have a long enough attention span to finish the project in one sitting but he loved it.
My only complaint, and not worth deducting a full star, is that the mosaic pads are not labeled with numbers. You get a dinosaur picture with numbers on it to place the corresponding mosaics but the mosaic key only provides a color guide that doesn't always match up. Placing numbers on the back of the mosaic pad would be perfect rather then guessing. Also, you need to keep track of the mosaic pads with younger kids in order to preserve every mosaic tile needed to finish all four pictures.
Overall, a great art project for boys. I plan on buying more since they have been a huge hit. A great way to spend a rainy day!
great toyJan 07, 2010 Loved this for my son. Kept him busy for a long time. Peeling and sticking tabs gets tedious,so we did it over a number of days, but the pictures come out beautiful.
